Mário Jorge

Mário Jorge was born on September 14th 1963 in Sangalhos, (Anadia) in Portugal.

At the age of 13 he discovered being strongly attracted by music and he started to play acoustic guitar; the first one was given to him by his father.

Only one year later, together with his father who played keyboards, Mário Jorge founded his first band, called “Golden Key”.

Two years later Mário Jorge went to the “Conservatório de Música Calouste Gulbenkian” in Aveiro and studied classic guitar and violin.

After two years he quit school, because he was asked by José Cid to play in his band “Banda Tribo”, in this time a very well known artist in Portugal, and due to a full agenda Mário Jorge went on tour for over three years.

After this experience he decided to return to the music school and he continued his study. At the same time he was asked to make arrangements, compositions and recordings in studio’s for other artists.

In the next following decades Mário Jorge dedicated his life to music and, as he puts it himself: “Music was my first love and remains my guide in life”.
